Our Proofing Policies

When I accept the proof what does that mean?

When applicable, ITG will provide Client with a proof of the final design before it goes to print. It is the client’s responsibility to respond to the proof in a timely manner. You are 100% responsible for the accuracy of your artwork, so check over proofs carefully. Proofs are generally sent via email. Adobe Acrobat Reader is required to view PDF files, and this is the preferable format for the proofing process. If you do not have this software, proofs can be sent in JPEG format.
Please check all your proof copies very carefully. Note any changes or corrections. When you are satisfied with the artwork as it appears in your proof, please indicate your approval via email or signing the printed proof copy. Every effort is made to match proof colours as closely as possible, however, due to the inherent differences in monitors, software and hardware, there may be some colour differences between what you see on your monitor and the actual colour of the finished job.

Should I print out a hard copy of my file before sending the artwork?

Yes – if you are supplying computer artwork we strongly recommend that you print all four colour separations of your job on a postscript laser or similar output device. If you can successfully print separations then the chances are that we will also be able to. This will also enable you to spot separation errors such as RGB graphics etc. Set your printer driver to download all fonts as outlines. Once you are happy with your separations print out a composite or a colour ink jet proof or similar and send all these proofs to us with your job. We strongly recommend that you use a postscript device for all proofing.

I noticed an error in my file – when is it too late to send new artwork?

Once a job has been sent to press, no changes are allowed to the artwork, job characteristics or turnaround time.

I want to cancel my order – how should I do this?

Send us an email, or give us a call immediately. Cancellations must receive approval to be valid. Customer is responsible for all work and expenses incurred to approved cancellation.

There is a problem with my job – what do I do?

All complaints must be registered within 24 hours of receipt of job. Should the job contain manufacturing errors and/or defects the job will be rerun at no charge. We maintain the right to judge what a manufacturing error and defect is.

When is a proof accepted?

Client agrees to accept the design within 3 business days after the notification completion. If client does not respond to notification of completion within 3 business days the work will be considered accepted, and Client will be invoiced and become responsible for payment.

Who owns the copyright to the design and the design materials?

Unless specifically stated otherwise, ITG is the owner of the Copyrights of all designs. Client is the copyright owner of their pre-provided content (text, existing pictures, existing logos, etc.) unless Client uses someone else’s copyrights with permission. All graphic designed materials and photography are the property of Imagine That Graphics, until payment is made in full for services rendered. At this time, the client shall receive a disk (fee $5.00) with all their job files on it. Customer files are held for two years then archived to disk. If you require a copy of any of our archived files, there is a retrieval fee of $15.00. Materials that we produce whilst processing your job shall at all times remain our property. Access to such material is entirely at our discretion.
